Parab Koraput
Parab Koraput is a swash-buckling festivals held in green district Koraput in December first week.The parab festival is one of the biggest in India and also the world in terms of the huge number of participants and the events involved. More than 50,000 participants flock to Koraput every year from different place of country to be a part of the parab festival that hosts Sports and Cultural events, Quiz, Essay and Debate competitions, Craft Mela, Artist Camp, Seminar, Book-Fair, Boat Race, Mountain Trekking to demonstrate the culture, heritage, traditions from different states and also new child hero’s of green district koraput from those events. Ratha jatra
Ratha jatra is one of famous festival of Koraput as well as Odisha. It is also called as chariot jatra in east India. Basically the rathajatra mean the deities Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are going to meet goodness Laxmi through a chariot to remember it, million of people gather for celebates this moment In koraput, there are 3 chariot for three deities individually go to gundicha temple at goodness laxmi. It is observe all over Koraput as well as Odisha between June to July.Dussehra (Lathi yatra)
Dussehra is one of the greatly celebrating festival of green district Koraput. It is celebrating different places of al cities like Koraput, jeypore, damanjodi, semiliguda, baipariguda etc and also celebrating this festival by touring of Devi Barali, lord birakhanmb called as Lathi Yatra in different rural regions and also urban region. Basically this festivals Celebrating on Devi Duga becouse she victory over the buffalo demon mohishasura and also believes that the victory of dharma over adharm(evil).Nua khai
Nua khai is a tribal festivals of green district Koraput. This festivals one of major festivals of tribal society. The tribal believes that “new crops started to eat in a specific day according to god”. This festivals observe between August to September.Chaitra parab
Chaitra parab is also a trible festival , they believe their god and obey the certain rule. The rule is “ mango is eaten in specific day by people and this day is special for them, namely called as Chaitra parab.
