Parab Koraput

Parab Koraput is a swash-buckling festivals held in green district Koraput in December first week.The parab festival is one of the biggest in  India and also the world in terms of the huge number of participants and the events involved. More than 50,000 participants flock to Koraput every year from different place of country to be a part of the parab festival that hosts Sports and Cultural events, Quiz, Essay and Debate competitions, Craft Mela, Artist Camp, Seminar, Book-Fair, Boat Race, Mountain Trekking  to demonstrate the culture, heritage, traditions from different states and also  new child hero’s of green district koraput from those events.  Some of highlights of the festival are, of course, folk arts, tribal dances and cultural heritage of the tribes of Koraput and other state.

Ratha jatra

Ratha jatra is one of famous festival of Koraput as well as Odisha. It is also called as chariot jatra in east India. Basically the rathajatra mean the deities Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are going to meet  goodness Laxmi through a chariot to remember it, million  of people gather for celebates this moment In koraput, there are 3 chariot for three deities individually go to gundicha temple at goodness laxmi. It is observe all over Koraput as well as Odisha between June to July.

Dussehra (Lathi yatra) 

Dussehra is one of the greatly celebrating festival  of green district Koraput. It is celebrating different places of al cities like Koraput, jeypore, damanjodi, semiliguda, baipariguda etc and also celebrating this festival by touring of Devi Barali, lord birakhanmb called as Lathi Yatra in different rural  regions and also urban region. Basically this festivals Celebrating on Devi Duga becouse she victory over  the buffalo demon  mohishasura  and also believes that the victory of dharma over adharm(evil).

Nua  khai

Nua khai is a tribal  festivals of green district Koraput.  This festivals one of major festivals of  tribal society. The tribal believes that  “new crops started to eat in a specific day according to god”.  This festivals observe between August to September.

Chaitra parab

Chaitra parab is also a trible festival , they believe their god and obey the certain rule. The rule is “ mango is eaten in specific day by people  and this day is special for them, namely called as Chaitra parab. This festivals observe  between March to April in about seven days all over the green district Koraput.

Koraput is historically place and also one of earoindustrial place  (HAL) of Odisha and also for India. Koraput known for Rich of mines,  waterfall, mountain, and Many more types of tribes to seen but here also some city which makes Koraput toward the modern or digital Koraput. Those major  cities are most decorated culture, modern equipment, school, offices and well connected with all other cities with NH-26.

1. Koraput

Koraput is the main hub of government offices of green district and also known for Sri Jagarnath temple. Total population of Koraput is 47,468 according to the census of 2011 and literacy rate is 49.21. the time zone is UTC+5.30(IST). There are some school is kendriya vidyalaya Koraput, JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA KORAPUT etc and colleges is govt. College Koraput, vigyan international junior college koraput and  tellent science, technology college Koraput and Sahid Laxman Nayak medical College koraput are famous schools or colleges in green district Koraput. 2. Jeypore(Odisha)

Jeypore is a biggest city in Koraput. It’s area is 36,259km.km and also the largest kingdom of Madras presidency. The city of jeypore is situated between the Araku hill of eatern ghats range. From the top of those hill we can see the beautyful areal view of jeypore.  This city is established in 1648-49CE by King  veer Vikram Dev and also it is the business hub of Koraput or southern Odisha. 3. Sunabeda

 Sunabeda is the industrial area of Koraput district and here one of the main international company is situated that is Hindustan aeronautics limited(HAL). This company mainly manefacture the part of engine division and sukhoi division. It works under  the ministry of defence of govt of India. Sunabeda is located in between the beautiful valley of eatern ghats mountain range and it is 18km far from koraput. Here also some important headquarter or offices is command battalian resolution action (CoBRA), Central University Odisha (CUO), sport authority of india hostel, Novak armament depot And also aeronautics college sunabeda, sunabeda public school, sunabeda deer park  are must famous in sunabeda. The total population of sunabeda is 58,647 according to census 2001 and telephone code is 06853. we can see the beautyful banks of kollab Rever from sunabeda. time zone same as Koraput.

3.Damanjodi

Damanjodi is a residential area for employees of National Alluminium Limited Company (NALCo). Which is situated on foothill of panchaptmali mountain range. The NALCo is also situated near the city. Total population of damanjodi is 8469 based on the census of 2001. Here some important religious place is present that is Hanuman temple, sirid Sai temple, Satya Sai temple, union Church, shree Jagarnath temple and damanjodi mosque.  Also here famous tourist attraction spots is world 2nd largest Hanuman temple, NALCo mining place, Sabari lake and biju Patnaik park etc.

1. deomali  Deomal:-  Deomali mountain is a part of eastern ghats mountain range and It is the highest peak mountain of eastern ghats range. It is also the highest altitude mountain in the state of odisha. Which is situated in Potangi block near Doodhari Villege under goes green district Koraput. Altitude of the Deomali mountain from sea level  is about 1762m(5,486ft).we can go by personal vehicle or tourist bas. Which is about 65km away from koraput.

3. Punjisil waterfall:- Punjisil is a most visited  tourist place of Koraput becouse of not any risk here for joying in this waterfall.which is 60.3 km  far from koraput on the way of Rayagadaroot. It situated in punjisil Villege of Dasamanpur block. we can enjoy here without  any fear for dancing, slipping from up to drown of the waterfall, swemming  and picnic etc. 
   
4. Kolan dam:- kolab dam is one of the oldest dam in odisha, which is began from 1993. The reseivor  has 11gate,4 turbine, 50m hight and   179m long. it generate 350mv of energy and also helpful for formar to farming khorib crop. Near the kolab dam a beautiful garden is present which is called kolab dam botanycal garden. In this garden more 200 flower plants planted and we cam get some attractive activity such as boating and other enjoying equipment for kids. Also we get a batter place for weekend picnic. Kolab dam 5km far from Jaypur and 13km far from koraput.
   
5. Gadbanda bridge(Oldest British bridge):- A oldest iron truss bridge located over the kolab river. Which is build by British government in 1931. It is connect Malkanigiri, Koraput, Gupteswer and also Andhra Pradesh. This bridge is situated on a valley eastern ghats mountains and looks very beautyful. The river after this bridge a small waterfall is present. Where most of people goes to weekend picnic. Here also a temple is present that is lord Sibji temple. Here we see a large number of monkey.
   
6. Honuman temple:- Damanjodi is modern city of green koraput. Where the world 2nd largest honuman statue and it's honuman temple is present. Here also a beautiful Sai temple and a beautiful modern park is present as well as NALCO (National Alluminium Limited Company ) is present.it is 43km away from the Koraput. All the transportation facilities are available except train and earoplane. Damanjodi is a beautiful morden city with best tourist attraction.
   
7. Bagra waterfall:-Bagra waterfall is one of the exotic waterfall becous it covered with dense forest and ravine stones. It is situated in Nabarapadabagra which is 18km long from koraput. It is most attractive at the time of October to December but it is very dangerous at rainy season due to the water is come from kolab river.

8. Malliguda tunnel:- Malliguda tunnel is the fourth largest broad gauge railway tumnel in Indai after kami and kasmire broad gauge bridge. This bridge is constructed by japanese engeenear in 1961 to 1966. It is situated over a beautiful valley along with a small waterfall in Malliguda. The tunnel name is given by Villege name of Malliguda. It is the where th combination of  waterfall, broad gauge bridge and infront of a tunnel, which makes its more beautiful, thats why it must itirary placeof green district Koraput.
